Ab-Interno Goniotomy using Kahook Dual Blade

The Kahook Dual Blade is a novel goniotomy blade created to produce a complete removal of TM through a minimally invasive approach. The participants of the lab will be able to practice corneal incision, gonioscopy, and excision of TM using the Kahook Dual Blade on synthetic eyes.

Ivantis Hydrus® Microstent Wetlab

Please join us! The Hydrus Microstent is a highly flexible, biocompatible 8-mm device for mild to moderate POAG. The microstent restores the flow of fluid in the eye using a Tri-ModalTM mechanism of action by, creating a bypass through the trabecular meshwork allowing outflow of aqueous humor, dilating and scaffolding Schlemm’s canal to augment outflow, and spanning 90 degrees of the canal providing consistent access to the fluid collector channels in the eye. Canal-Based MIGS: iTrack™ Surgical System

Attendees will have a better understanding of the effectiveness that ABiC™ performed with the iTrack™ Surgical System offers for the management of glaucoma using case examples, as well as the best treatment practices for these patients. This course will cover the most effective management approaches in these patients, as well as how to effectively incorporate it into practice.

Upon completion of this course, clinicians should be able to:

  1. Identify the anatomical cues that can help guide and orient the ABiC™ procedure i.e. Schlemm’s canal, choroid, scleral spur and Schwalbe’s line.
  2. Understand the clinical pearls for the successful pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative management of patients undergoing ABiC™
  3. Understand the role of ABiC™ in the glaucoma treatment algorithm, relative to MIGS procedures, medications and other surgical approaches
  4. Determine patient selection criteria for ABiC™

MicroPulse TSCPC: Non-incisional glaucoma treatment with the Cyclo G6 laser

What to do when medications or invasive surgeries are not enough or an option? In this wet lab, attendees will learn how glaucoma specialists from around the world are using MicroPulse Transscleral Cyclophotocoagulation with the IRIDEX Cyclo G6 Laser to treat earlier and late stage glaucoma, which allows physicians to offer a non-incisional treatment to their patients. Eight world-renowned glaucoma specialists, including Prof. Paul Chew (Singapore), Dr. Ziad Khoueir (Lebanon), Dr. Shan Lin (United States), and Dr. Sandra Sieminski (United States) will share experiences and best practices for the first 30 minutes, then provide hands-on demos and one-on-one interactions for the remainder of the wet lab. First experiences with XEN®

This dry lab will include an overview of the key implantation principles for the XEN Gel Implant, including considerations for; pre-op workout, precise implantation and post-op management. The session will also include familiarisation with the XEN injector and options for holding it. Delegates will be have the opportunity to implant XEN into silicone eyes specially designed for training purposes. Several experienced faculty members and Allergan Surgical specialists will be on hand to provide guidance an tips from their experience.
