Japan is connected by an efficient transport network including the Shinkansen (bullet train) and domestic flights, allowing you to choose to land at any international gateway around the country.

The most popular route for getting to Kyoto is to fly into Tokyo Haneda airport (HND) and take a connecting flight to Osaka Itami (ITM). From ITM, Skygate Taxis, limousine bus or the famous Shinkansen are available to transport you from Osaka to Kyoto city.

Buses operate from Osaka International Airport to Kyoto City. The trip takes approximately 55min and costs approx. 1310 yen for an adult ticket.

For buses to Kyoto, make your way to bus stop 2 directly out the front of departures North terminal. Buses operate approx. every 30min from Osaka airport.

Tickets can be purchased from the ticket counters at the bus stops and they accept most major credit cards.

Trains depart from terminal building 1. Tickets can be purchased from the JR West ticket office or the green vending machines. Approximate travel time to Kyoto is 1hr20min and costs 3000 yen.
